The UF Geomatics Program @ Fort Lauderdale was involved throughout the 2018 South Florida GIS Expo. The Expo is the premier annual geospatial event in South Florida.

As part of the 25th anniversary celebration, ESRI’s Jack Dangermond gave the keynote address.

On August 23rd, Henry Hochmair presented with colleagues at Florida International University as part of the presentation entitled “FIU/UF Sea Level Rise Web GIS Applications.”

On August 24th,  Adam Benjamin, Levente Juhasz, and Ahmed Ahmouda presented a talk entitled “Geospatial Education: Adapting to Rapid Technological Change.”

Meanwhile, UF Geomatics posters were prominently on display during the two day event.

Congratulations to Levente Juhasz for taking home first prize in the Student Poster presentation category for his poster entitled: “Where to catch ’em all: A geographic analysis of PokemonGo locations”!

Lastly, thank you to everyone who came out to attend our presentations.

We look forward to reconnecting again next year if not sooner!
