Dr. Kimberly Moore graduated from Iowa State University in 1995 with a PhD in horticulture. She accepted a position with the University of Florida in 1995. She was promoted to Associate Professor in 2001.
Her appointment with the University of Florida is split between teaching and research. She is responsible for teaching several courses. She also serves as the Coordinator of Academic Programs at the Fort Lauderdale REC.
Dr. Moore became interested in developing a trial garden after working on a statewide project investigating the use of native Rudbeckia species (Black-eyed Susan) in the landscape.
The goal of the Fort Lauderdale trial garden is to help expand the list of species and cultivars of bedding plants that will perform well in the landscape in south Florida.
